Michael Okun, MD is a board-certified neurologist, movement disorders specialist, neuroscientist, and author dedicated to placing patients at the center of care. He co-founded and co-directs the internationally renowned Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases alongside neurosurgeon Kelly Foote, MD. Dr. Okun also serves as Medical Advisor for the Parkinson’s Foundation, a role he has held since 2006.
Dr. Okun specializes in treating Parkinson’s disease, tremor, Tourette syndrome, dystonia, and other movement-related neurological disorders. His research focuses on deep brain stimulation (DBS), neuromodulation, and therapies to improve cognitive, behavioral, and mood outcomes for patients.
