Michael Okun, MD is a board-certified neurologist, movement disorders specialist, neuroscientist, and author dedicated to placing patients at the center of care. He co-founded and co-directs the internationally renowned Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases alongside neurosurgeon Kelly Foote, MD. Dr. Okun also serves as Medical Advisor for the Parkinson’s Foundation, a role he has held since 2006.

Dr. Okun specializes in treating Parkinson’s disease, tremor, Tourette syndrome, dystonia, and other movement-related neurological disorders. His research focuses on deep brain stimulation (DBS), neuromodulation, and therapies to improve cognitive, behavioral, and mood outcomes for patients. His work has been supported by organizations such as the NIH, the Parkinson’s Foundation, and the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
